Baby Luther, HC's son.
So so cute man. Was talking to HC today, catching up a bit, and luther was running about. The chat and Luther (yup, named after the legendary Martin Luther King. Hear his historic speech) really made my day a lot happier. I think this was what pastor richard was talking about when he mentioned the over flowing of the holy spirit.
Wish that one day I can have this kind of impact on people too. But there are several things that I got to get straight before God can use me.
In the famous verse:
"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want."
Galations 5:16-17
Yes, you have to live by the Spirit, be saturated with it. I guess when that happens the conflict and the frustration that comes with it will subside. But like a dry sponge, it also takes time for a person to be saturated with the spirit. Till then, there will be gaps in the dry areas that S.A. Tan can clog up with his lies.
I know it's the sinful nature, it's how we are. I know God forgives. But will the struggle last till we depart from this earth?
I love this song, note the lyrics, it's worth reading. The way it develops really touches me:
There Is A Redeemer
There is a redeemer,
Jesus, God's own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One.
Jesus my redeemer,
Name above all names,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Oh, for sinners slain.
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
'Til the work on Earth is done.
When I stand in Glory,
I will see His face,
And there I'll serve my King forever,
In that Holy Place.
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
'Til the work on Earth is done.
There is a redeemer,
Jesus, God's own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One.
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
'Til the work on Earth is done.
And leaving Your Spirit,
'Till the work on Earth is done.
When I read it, I just can't help but stop skimming, and go back to really appreciate what every verse really means.
After singing the song, I could see the big picture. First, God was holy and has to punish everybody who commits a single sin. But God sent Jesus and He ministered on earth for 33 years. Then (I guess it's according to God's plan, you'll never know, but) Jesus had to go back to heaven.
But hey,
Christianity didn't just end there. This was what really touched me. When Jesus when back to heaven, he gave us the Holy Spirit. We are not alone. And the same Spirit that first poured itself fully onto those guys is the same Spirit that is in us now. The intensity and significance has not changed.
Jesus came to earth and went back to heaven. And now, the Holy Spirit is among us now, and when 'the work on Earth is done', the next thing in line is Jesus' return. Don't know if it's gonna be soon or after I die, but it really put everything into perspective - the larger one.
